dctweetup at M&S bar with @Sisarina @Aishajcreative @redsprinkle where inattentiveness is combined with indifferance. Great company though
Finally venturing out onto the semi-treated streets on the way to check out @Sisarina office improvements. Car weighed down with quarters :)
Just stared down a huge plow that was about to block my driveway again. Victory!!! My personal Tiananman Square tank moment of the day. :)
Snow behaving badly. Melting and refreezing even now causing LOTS of ice n black ice. Be VERY careful out there! And clean off your roofs!
Pushin' for Winter Solstice Happy Hour! At 12:47 pm today! Let's celebrate the shortest day of the year as the days start getting longer. :)

Hey everybody! Just posted photos of my deck on FB. http://ping.fm/yDjx4 It's beautiful but still coming down! :D
Just awoke from a 2.5 hr nap. Steadily climbing towards consciousness. Shoveling is strong exercise for a recovering shoulder. Coffee? :)
BWI airport just shut down. National airport closed. Dulles open but slow. Glad my friends got out of town yesterday to Colombia n Italy :)
Looks like the snow may significantly slow down around 2 am. I will be under the covers by then, not uncovering the sidewalks. ;)
Temporarily defeated in battle w Mother Nature Refueling for the next assault. Battle lost will win war. Buffalo ex pats are a hardy lot! :)
Mother Nature is interfering with my little video project by throwing down a nasty band of heavy snow right now. Need to learn patience. ;)
Post-snow-shoveling smoked salmon and spinach omlet Amazingly good. Not the @Sisarina cereal or @ChefTony feast but incredibly satisfying.
I survived the Blizzard of '77 in Buffalo and the Blizzard of '78 in Boston. “The Best Day is a Snow Day!!!” You can quote me." :-D
I LOVE snow. I enjoy playing in it, making snowmen (and snow women), throwing snowballs, sledding upon it, and skiing upon it
Contemplating shooting a short snow shoveling video. Mother Nature has already provided the set. I just need to provide the talent. ;-)
Daylight! just spotted the top of an orange plastic bag. Headin' out to grab my Washington Post. Reading time. Let the adventure begin! :)
Only 9" here in North Bethesda This truly warms a Buffalonian's heart. :) Welcome to a replay of my childhood weather. Fun! Fun! Fun! :-D

When it's slippery, they're fast. When it's just snow-covered and not slippery, they're slow. Exasperating! So nice to be safe at home :-D
Howdy! Safe and sound at home but the ride from Tysons was over 1.5 hours. Amazingly silly drivers out there. Clearly NOT Buffalo-trained
Just finished a great PT session in DC with Emily Jeter and Tidiane Zerbo. Definitely worth the trip on the Red Line to Farragut North. :)

Thursday, December 17, 2009

I am incredibly grateful that I took my driving test in Buffalo during a blizzard. 6-8" is a dusting. Relax. It's a little snow. No biggie.
It's "lights out" at the Vogelmann Rock Creek Compound. Now, if only the deer would also go to sleep, i could really rest easy. ;)
Having a rollicking good time with @DrDavidParker on FB and Twitter tonight. A great healer and a whole lotta fun! :-D
Stuck in Alexandria post office with many holiday pkg senders. Quickly moving now despite high volume :-)
Twas a week before Xmas and I have to tell that the traffic on the Pike is much worse than hell! :-(
Pulling out what little hair remains over this "insurance care reform" legislation. Atrocious display of inflated egos holding us hostage.

If you were to be granted three wishes today, what would they be? Would you use them to fulfill your heart's desire?
Why is it that Americans most always define a person as what they do for a living rather than who they are as a person? Not so when abroad.

Even though because of my recent shoulder surgery, the skiing season is a bust, I still love seeing the snow. Only missing a fireplace. ;)
The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane. ~ Marcus Aurelius

Listening to program on healing properties of essential oils. Great stuff for helping people get natural pain relief as fast as possible. :)
Into every life a little rain must fall as well as snow, sleet and the occasional tornado. Be happy today regardless of your circumstances.

Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.
Heading out to rendezvous with Nury to bring her some of her things left behind after yesterday's abrupt termination. Bittersweet meeting.
A bit lonely in the Alexandria office today without Nury present. This is going to require some real adaptation...
